What is the Opportunity?

Aecon is looking for a workface planner to support our ongoing and upcoming Industrial work in Alberta. We are looking for someone who is detailed oriented, technical and a team player.

What you'll do here:

Develop specific installation work packages (FIWP)

• Preparing required project discipline FIWPs, which includes determining required activities, resources, special conditions, quality control, and risk planning.
• Acts as a liaison between project controls and workforce supervision.
• Responsible to ensure all necessary resources are available prior to releasing a FIWP and monitoring control of the FIWP.
• Determine possible obstacles, work with Supervision and Engineering to mitigate found issues.
• Implement the Construction Execution Plan.
• Ensure intended safety requirements are properly conveyed to workforce supervision.

Who are you?

• Relevant combination of education and experience
• 5 years experience working on construction sites an asset.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, data visualization and working with 3D modeling software. iConstruct experience an asset.
• Have an understanding of project scheduling and estimating techniques.
• Have knowledge of health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Know general construction and materials systems and procedures.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills and a high degree of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in challenging, fast paced environment.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills including the ability to converse with technical professionals as well as operations end users.
