Position Title: Head of IT Infrastructure

Location: San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Dallas, TX

Your role The Head of Global IT Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing the company's entire IT infrastructure, encompassing areas of servers, storage, cloud services, networking, and IT service desk operations. This leadership role involves strategic planning, implementation, and management of infrastructure to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure IT services across the organization.

What you'll do
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Leadership: Lead and manage a global team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Server and Storage Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of servers and storage systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Cloud Services: Manage the deployment and operation of cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises systems and optimizing cloud utilization.
  • Network Management: Ensure a robust and secure global network infrastructure, managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking components.
  • IT Service Desk: Oversee IT service desk operations, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Security: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the organization's IT assets and data.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in IT infrastructure management.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in IT infrastructure.

What you'll need
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: At least 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a proven track record of leading global teams and managing complex IT environments.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of server, storage, cloud, and network technologies, as well as IT service desk operations.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a focus on delivering results.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale IT projects, with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Security Awareness: Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices, with experience in implementing and managing security measures.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to develop and manage budgets, with a focus on cost optimization and financial performance.
  • Vendor Management: Experience in negotiating and managing vendor contracts and relationships.

Our Compensation Philosophy

Digital Realty offers its employees a highly competitive compensation package, excellent benefits, and an environment that recognizes and rewards your contributions. Central to our compensation philosophy is rewarding our employees for achieving the values and objectives aligned to the company's overall goals and values.

Our published pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and geographical location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Moreover, an employee's total compensation package varies by role and may include salary, cash bonus or commissions, and equity awards not quantified below.

Compensation range: $231,000 - $300,000 annually. This compensation range represents the Company's good faith belief as to what it will pay as a base salary for this position at the time of this posting.
