About the role

As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Sr. Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and complete the major repairs of scientific instrumentation.

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

What you'll do

  • Assembly of prefabricated environmentally controlled rooms (cold rooms, dry rooms, clean rooms) and similar products along with their related mechanical and control systems.
  • Lead a technical installation team for duration of the project.
  • Operate test equipment. This includes multimeters, frequency generators, and counters, galvanometers, digital logic probes, and oscilloscopes.
  • Start-up of refrigeration systems and controls, assist in commissioning when appropriate.
  • Coordinate the removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Troubleshoot, service or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work.
  • Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements.
  • Communicate with customer staff and outside contractors about the calibration, repair, and operation of equipment.
  • Locate part sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions.
  • Track instrument and part reliability; make alternate service, supplier, and parts recommendations.
  • Oversee the development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures.
  • Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Impact the quality of own work.
  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
  • Occasionally travel throughout California for projects or meetings with contractors and clients.

What you'll need

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Must have appropriate license or certification where required by law.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
  • Knowledge on best practice installation methods and ability to read commercial construction blueprints and specifications.
  • Proactive, ability to identify potential issues in the field and resolve prior to executing installation.
  • Good interpersonal/communication skills

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr. LIS Technician position is $85,000 annually [or $40.86 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Sr. LIS Technicianposition is $105,000 annually [or $50.48 per hour]. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
