Position Purpose: The Director of Human Resources (HR) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all HR functions within the organization, ensuring the alignment of HR strategies with business goals. This role involves managing HR team members and developing and implementing HR policies, and leading initiatives related to talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, compliance, compensation, and benefits. The Director of HR also plays a strategic role in shaping company culture and promoting an environment of continuous learning, development, and inclusiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior management on HR-related issues, including employee relations, compensation strategies, organizational development and organizational change initiatives to ensure the workforce evolves in line with business needs.
Talent Management & Development
- Oversee recruitment strategies and initiatives to attract top talent to the organization.
- Work with department leaders to understand staffing needs and build workforce plans that support growth and retention.
- Develop and implement employee development programs, including performance management, training, mentorship, and leadership development.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Promote a positive organizational culture and employee engagement through proactive communication, recognition programs, and conflict resolution.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, ensuring effective resolution of workplace issues.
- Address employee concerns and ensure company policies are applied consistently and fairly.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract, retain, and motivate talent.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure compensation structures are market-competitive and legally compliant.
- Oversee payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate compensation for employees.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure that the organization adheres to all relevant federal, state and local labor laws, regulations, workers compensation, and HR best practices.
- Lead audits and investigations related to HR issues, ensuring that the organization is protected from legal and reputational risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and organizational development strategies.
- Proven ability to manage HR functions and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
- Ability to drive change and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional extended hours required for strategic initiatives and meetings.
- Some travel may be required depending on the organization's location and business needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
