The APS Portfolio Director has full responsibility for functional areas and activities within the accounts assigned but in alignment and under the guidance of the APS IG, Regional Operations Teams and APS Enterprise Platform Team.
Job Objective
The APS Sr. Portfolio Director executes operational processes in alignment with the APS Platform Team ensuring that clients outcomes are achieved; Client/Faculty, Staff, experience is positive; ABM financial objectives are met, and sales opportunities are reviewed and supported. The Sr. Portfolio Director is also engaged with the IG Operational Teams, Client Experience & Operations Support (CE-OS) Team and APS Platform Team (which includes sales) on client pursuits, due-diligence, contract reviews, account transitions, strategic planning, and operational excellence initiatives.
Within their designated area the successful individual develops and implements operational improvement strategies, functions as the subject matter expert for APS, is the lead point of contact and business partner for ABM's Enterprise APS Platform Team, has primary Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for all APS accounts, facilitates the achievement of all run rate and sales targets set by Corporate and/or the IG Leader and in partnership with the sales department, and is responsible for delivering high quality service that focuses on client satisfaction and profitable new business opportunities for all APS clients.
The APS Sr. Portfolio Director leads the Account Directors of their assigned accounts through the matrix and is responsible for their performance, standards compliance, as well as the operational and financial performance of the accounts.
Furthermore, the APS Sr. Portfolio Director is the designated subject matter expert for APS clients in their defined area and the primary evangelist in partnering with the APS IG and Enterprise Platform Team ensuring the execution of all standardized processes and procedures for those accounts with suitable complexity and the potential to grow into APS accounts.

Responsibilities:

- Adopt and execute the processes established by the APS Platform Team within their IG and SIG Assigned Portfolio.
- Aid in recruiting, managing, and leading account management teams with focus on service delivery, strong client relationships and continuous improvement. Selection and development of leaders at multiple levels and disciplines within the area of responsibility.
- Can act as an account director when needed to cover absence, promotions and vacancies on a short-term basis ensuring continuity of services and positive client experience.
- Conversion of existing discrete, multi and bundled service accounts to APS accounts.
- Creation of a strong operational culture based on an engaged and professional workforce in a highly collaborative team atmosphere.
- Development of strong client relationships with levels above the day-to-day site and account contacts.
- P&L ownership and a strong financial acumen with the ability to understand a P&L statement and identify opportunities for margin improvement and trend analysis.
- Ability to develop an internal network (with Functional Groups) and external network (perspective clients, industry, etc.).
- Drive client retention for existing accounts.
- Proactively identify potential risks and assign proper resources to mitigate those risks.
- Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic direction of the account and IG division; establish and implement policies, practices, and standards to ensure operational success.
- Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements.
- Active participation in business development opportunities, including pricing, presentations, and perspective client engagements.
- Identify, recommend, and implement processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline use of resources and materials.
- Implement and integrate productivity measures and delivery methods to achieve planned ROI and KPI's
- Ensure that quality standards are assigned, measured, tracked, reported and met.
- Drive a culture of safety following required safety activities, inspections, and KPI's.
- Oversee several workflows simultaneously.
- Participates as a member of the SIG executive leadership team. Expected to be involved in defining Go to Market strategies for current and future offerings and providing sales and operational playbooks.
- Drive decisions across multiple groups through the entire ABM team.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel and manage accounts in multiple states.
Job Qualifications and Desired Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering or Facilities related curriculum, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge and experience working in critical, regulated manufacturing environments such as semiconductor, life science, energy, and aerospace.
- 12+ years of experience in supporting/overseeing hard (skilled) and soft (non-skilled) operations for owners/operators of built environments.
- Experience engaging in client relationships for top tier (US and/or multi-national) corporations or institutions.
- Familiarity and experience with enterprise software solutions related to operating the built environment such as ERP, CMMS, BAS, BMS, WOM, FMCS, and IWMS.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as IoT, VR, AI and Smart Buildings.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management.
- Understanding of client/market dynamics and requirements.
- CBA Union experience
- Solid understanding of effective operating principles, practices of managing employees and the ability to effectively apply these principles to direct reports in support of a collegial, client-focused, and competent work unit.
- Ability to engage clients at a senior level and lead/support client business reviews, client presentations and client retention initiatives.
- Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and lay the foundation for continued growth and partnership.

- Must understand accounts receivable processes, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and general knowledge of financial performance to achieve positive value for ABM and our stockholders.
- Must be able to work with Microsoft suite of products such as PowerPoint, PBI, Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and OneNote.
