Experience: 3 years required
License: ARDMS registry
Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association
Must-Have:
- Associate's Degree
- Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)
Job Description:
- Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures utilizing high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for disease diagnosis.
- Prepare exam room and obtain informed consent.
- Request and review accurate clinical history, determining proper selection of protocols.
- Explain examination methods and position patients appropriately.
- Assess patient status and needs, completing diagnostic techniques/tests to ascertain ongoing condition and necessary interventions.
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered, ensuring quality images.
- Coordinate preparation of images/exams and required documentation for physician partners.
- Document and communicate patient-related information thoroughly and accurately.
- Inform patients of physician's instructions or observations and incorporate these into appropriate care.
- Meet the needs of patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams through effective communication, coordination, and documentation.
- Ensure safe and effective hand-off between shifts by communicating clearly with the oncoming shift.
- Monitor equipment reliability and safety, reporting issues or repairs needed.
- Order and stock supplies, cleaning rooms and equipment to maintain the work environment.
- Transport patients as necessary.
- Actively participate in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, care, and workflow improvement.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization, adhering to service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
