Position: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

This leader will have the proven ability to operate a line of business with multiple service and limited production product offerings, a track record of building and sustaining a culture of operational excellence, and a proven ability to develop and execute to an annual operating plan and to Program plans and schedule while meeting technical objectives. All forward-facing operational sides of the business report to the COO.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Refine, executing, and supporting processes that enable Paragon to meet financial and operational business targets; assisting in the definition of long-term and short-term business objectives that are aligned with the overall company Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan.
  • Support a culture of precision-delivery and high accountability for meeting and exceeding schedule, technical and cost targets.
  • Enable and support integration of acquired assets and resources.
  • Work with or direct the Business Development team to drive technical and process innovations and robust solution development into the operations' current portfolio of contracts and customers.
  • Supports the cultivation, maintenance, and expansion of exceptional customer relationships, ensuring our solutions / service / product offerings address their needs.
  • Work with the CFO and financial professionals to maintain financial visibility and drive action to maintain profitability

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/BA Degree from an accredited college or university; STEM degree preferred; Advanced Degree desired (e.g. MS, MBA, etc.) with a minimum fifteen years' leadership experience within diverse growth-oriented aerospace businesses.
  • Experience leading within a business component of an organization with revenues more than $50M and companies of 200 or more employees
  • Experience providing products and services to the federal market, both military and civilian
  • Experience providing solutions and services to niche commercial markets
  • Experience leading or supporting the integration of a P&L operation
  • Experience successfully leading within a complex organization with multiple contracts, revenue streams, and product and service offerings.
  • Experience in supporting and integrating Program Excellence functions that ensure excellent delivery of products and services to customers.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to support and extend a culture where employees are motivated to succeed through collaboration, commitment, and clear and open communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and promote involvement across an organization.
  • Must possess exceptional and interpersonal communication skills and can both inspire and motivate the employee population.


Other Desired Qualifications:
  • PMP with experience running large programs
  • Experience working in the government and commercial aerospace/space sector
  • Ability to build cross-organizational teams with collaborative work styles and common desire for performance excellence and customer service.
  • Willingness and desire to invest time in coaching and mentoring others, including successors for key positions within the organization.
  • Innovative and creative thinker, willing to evaluate and challenge current practices and review alternative ways of viewing processes and procedures across the organization; and inspiring this behavior across the employee population.
  • Security Requirements - candidate must be a US Citizen and must be able to possess (as well as maintain) security clearance. Prior security clearances a plus.
