Prime Video is one of the world's largest and fastest growing steaming video services.

The Principal HR Business Partner will support management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement for Prime Video Advertising and Shoppable Entertainment. In addition, they may own programs that run across the broader HR team. To be successful in this role, you must understand the business priorities and translate those into an HR strategy. You will help business leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention, and the overall employee experience. To succeed, you will need a flexible skill set, including the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

Key job responsibilities
The ability to understand business goals as well as design and implement new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements for leaders and employees
The desire and ability to be an influential and credible senior HR leader within the team, including setting the tone, agenda, and direction for the Prime Video Advertising HR role.
Understand the entire talent system and each stage of the employee lifecycle while balancing this against local processes/practices and creating a consistent experience for all Prime Video Advertising employees.
Able to identify when there is a need for local solutions and approaches vs. broader and scalable approaches
Solutions focused and comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables
Bias for action with stellar operational excellence
Operates with autonomy, discretion and a true hands-on approach
Ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of a broad group of employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
Uses data and org health metrics to make decisions and keep leadership informed
Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
Ability to support a flexible work environment and schedule given multiple time zones

Success in this role will require influential partnership with middle and senior management within the organization to execute the HR strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. The individual in this role must understand business priorities and translate them into an HR agenda that supports the business as it grows. Additionally, the individual in this role is accountable for partnering with leadership to teach, coach, and cultivate the Amazon culture by ensuring the Leadership Principles are taught, lived, and integrated in each component of the talent system at Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of relevant Human Resources experience
Experience in working with a highly matrixed organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher, in Human Resources or related field
Project management and execution skills
Thrives in a high-pressure environment and able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities
Able to build trust with managers thanks to strong expertise and judgement
Possesses intellectual curiosity; brings insight into the team & business
Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking and analysis.
Strong use of Excel and other analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Coaching and consulting skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
