Construction Estimator - Water Projects

Velocity Constructors, Inc. is a Colorado based General Contractor with experience in the construction of heavy civil water projects. These may include water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, water pump stations, water tanks, reservoirs, vaults, heavy civil construction, underground utilities, treatment plant equipment installations, piping, and more. Job Duties:

• Review project advertisements for area or region and select the projects to bid
• Prepare bids by reviewing blueprints and specifications, and related document
• Identify potential subcontractors and vendors that would be a good fit for the project, then solicit them for quotes
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and time requirements, then compare that to subcontractor and vendor supplied packages to determine the best course as action to consider and ultimately price
• Resolves discrepancies and makes necessary adjustments to portions of the estimate necessary to finalize the price before the due date and deadline

Experience Required:

• Construction experience preferred
• The ability to work under pressure to meet set goals, budgets, and deadlines
• Proficiency with work processing, spreadsheets, or estimating software
• The ability to read plans and specifications, and accurately create a material take-off
• The ability to manage time well and to multi-task
• Analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• The ability to take criticism

Compensation: $75,000 to $100,000 annual salary

Hours and Location: This is a full-time professional position working Monday through Friday in our Englewood office.
