Senior Lean Six Sigma Engineer

Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide leadership and support to continuous improvement initiatives at the regional level including work studies to analyze work systems and develop standards, allowances and/or improvements to existing systems, providing input for the development of functional layouts that minimize space, material transit distance and provide flexibility for expansion, and utilize problem solving methodology to analyze and/or improve work systems

• 30% - Lead Lean Six Sigma workshops, Kaizen Events for the region, including monitoring of cost savings
• 30% - Coach and Lead Lean Six Sigma deployment projects to achieve cost saving targets, meet agreed project deadlines, and proactively manage customer and stakeholder expectations by following the governance process.
• 20% - Hands-on implementation and execute Lean Kaizen Six Sigma projects
• 20%- Measurements put in place in all sites to show efficiency and effectiveness of operators and equipment to meet the standards

• Lead Lean Six Sigma workshops, Kaizen trainings and activities across the region, including Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Risk Management, Gate Reviews, Control Plans, JIT Delivery, Labor Balancing, Capacity studies
• Mentor/coach employees in Lean Six Sigma concept and knowledge
• Utilize 5S, Kaizen, JIT Delivery, Labor Balancing, Capacity studies, Time & Motion studies, Six Sigma methodologies, AutoCAD, MS Excel, project management, facility and process design, lean manufacturing concepts and material flow engineering
• Facilitate and Support the application of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques for the successful delivery of continuous improvement projects across the region
• Ensure the delivery of project benefits through the correct cost tracking mechanisms and continually review by following the BPI governance process
• Deliver assigned projects within the BPI, Six Sigma program & associated objectives for relevant sites & operations
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, customers, business partners and stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain or related field
• 5 years of experience, proven record of deployment of a lean Six Sigma program at an organizational level
• Experience utilizing process improvement and root-cause analysis tools
• Proven record of implementing cost savings projects and directly contributing to financial performance
• Experience in Project Management and utilizing Lean tools in the successful delivery of cross-functional projects
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified preferred
• Fluent in Spanish is a big plus
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the working week with a high level of flexibility
• Able to train new team members, communicate professionally with a wide variety of people, lead and manage projects with little to no supervision, serve as a subject matter expert to the industrial engineering field
• Ability to handle stressful situations, multitask, and meet deadlines

• Training skills - train the trainer
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified
