Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for the overall management of enhancing and monitoring key performance indicators related to revenue cycle efficiency, denial prevention, Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) accuracy, and Clinical Documentation (CDI) effectiveness. The role acts as a resource to all levels of staff and management in defining/optimizing Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) processes by driving operational efficiency, enhancing financial performance and maintaining the highest standards of clinical documentation across the health system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides visionary leadership, directly overseeing Clinical Documentation Improvement department, but also support multidisciplinary teams, including Central Business Office (CBO), Denials Prevention Programs, Health Information Management Auditors, and external departments, to drive strategic initiatives, as needed.
  • Serves as a key part of the Revenue Cycle Management team and be responsible to identify trends in denials, DRG downgrades, Payer takebacks and implement corrective actions to meet the Cash goal for the division. Maintains, manages, and ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all electronic medical and health records (EMRs).
  • Ensures compliance and related policies and procedures are in accordance with requirements of CMS, Joint Commission, JHS policy and procedures, JHS Compliance and other regulatory agencies as applicable.
  • Plans, implements, and monitors quality and productivity of department functions to best support the department's strategy.
  • Plans and meets goals by implementing budget, managing FTE's and expenses.
  • Collaborates with RCM leadership to implement departmental policies.
  • Ensures staff participation in required education programs and appropriate orientation and training courses to maintain competency in job skills, knowledge and technology applications.
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.


Required Qualification:

Experience:

  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Leadership experience is required.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Foreign MD or MSN strongly preferred. Master's degree is preferred.

Credentials

  • Certification in CDI is highly preferred. Licensed health Professional (RN, APRN, or foreign MD) is preferred
