Description:
The NPI Engineer is responsible for providing technical, hands-on knowledge and support for all aspects of mfg. transfer operations. This position will become the SME for designated mfg. transfer projects (bioelectronics or complex interventional catheter production) and will be responsible to ensure the mfg. transfer operation remains in compliance with the company's D&D Quality System, customer needs, budgetary requirements, schedule requirements, and the regulatory requirements, as well as interfacing with Quality and R&D to achieve project goals. Req:Bachelor's degree or equiv. in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering field & must have 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) exp. Must also have 12 months of exp. with each of the following:
(1) develop and implement robust, cost-effective mfg. processes and improve product flow and product quality and safety performance for both sustained and new products;
(2) lead creation of mfg. process validation plans, validation protocols and reports, and implement mfg. process validations and test method validations;
(3) prepare document change orders and coordinate the implementation of changes including training production staff;
(4) troubleshoot designs and processes when defects occur, lead investigation to determine root cause, and implement effective containment and counter measures; and
(5) utilize lean mfg. tools for continuously improve the flow of material and information including assembly line layouts, visual management, 5S, JIT, and Kanbans to increase mfg. efficiencies, reduce takt time, improve floor space utilization, and minimize indirect support and overhead. Will accept exp. gained concurrently.
