Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.

The Barnes Jewish West County Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology treats 25-40 patients daily. The department has an IX Varian linear accelerator and a Philips Brilliance large bore CT scanner. Physician coverage is from Washington University.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Manages diversified duties within the Radiation Oncology Services such as radiation therapy, dosimetry, physics, and other radiation modalities. Ensures that all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within area of responsibility meet quality and regulatory standards and the needs of the hospital's patients and medical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Manages all operational activities within direct reporting line.
  • Assists in developing strategic initiatives.
  • Ensures that all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within area of responsibility meet quality and regulatory standards and the needs of the hospital's patients and medical staff.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements new services and assists in marketing efforts in conjunction with organization public relations.

  • Minimum Requirements

    Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • - Business/Radiology/related
    Experience
  • 5-10 years

  • Supervisor Experience
  • 2-5 years

  • Licenses & Certifications
