Overview

The RN Spvr Hospital Medicine is responsible for the effective operation of the Hospitalist Program in regard to care delivery, quality and safety outcomes, employee engagement, patient experience, regulatory compliance and fiscal management. This role uses research and outcomes data to support the design, development, and implementation of processes and programs that improve patient care and stimulate departmental and organizational growth. The Hospitalist Supervisor creates and maintains a culture of trust that fosters teamwork and the continual pursuit of excellence in the provision of care.

Responsibilities

  • Manages operations of Hospitalist Team and ensures standards of care and quality of services are provided in accordance with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Manages the provider schedules ensuring appropriate patient coverage and contact hours
  • Implements Carle Experience initiatives related to improving patient satisfaction and employee engagement
  • Resolves work related issues or assists team in solving work related issues.
  • Ensures team members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.
  • Individual will be instrumental in identifying trends in care delivery that require targeted educational interventions, changes in care plans, reducing variability in practice.
  • Assist with managing workflows and processes for the hospital medicine team. Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Monitor quality metrics and assist in implementing improvement initiatives that align with Carle's Mission and Vision. Support data collection and reporting related to quality of care and patient outcomes.
  • Help identify improvement opportunities in care delivery, practice variation, and arrange skill-building educational/training sessions to address opportunities.
  • Maintain and update schedules for physicians and advanced practice providers. Coordinate with staff to address schedule changes, coverage gaps, or unplanned absences.
  • Serve as a point of contact for addressing patient or family concerns and ensuring timely resolution. Facilitate initiatives to improve patient and team member experience. Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the care team. Act as a liaison between the hospital medicine team and other departments.
  • Organize team meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items.
  • Comfortable with conflict management and team building.
  • Support credentialing and onboarding of new team members.
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and maintaining operational records.
  • Work with physician leaders, coding and finance to evaluate and enhance coding and billing opportunities.


Qualifications

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); National Nursing Certification - Varies; Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing, Work Experience: Healthcare leadership

Salary Range

The compensation range for this position is $45.55per hour - $78.35per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
