This Assistant Vice President & Actuary position is primarily responsible for completing reserve analyses for various product lines for U.S. business and managing several actuarial staff. The role is preferentially based in Whitehouse Station, NJ, but with flexibility to be based in Philadelphia, PA, and reports to the North America Corporate Actuary.

Duties and responsibilities related to this position:
  • Complete loss and ALAE reserve review quarterly assignments and communicate the results to actuarial and divisional business management.
  • Responsible for booking of results and review of/commentary on interim A vs E results.
  • Manage and develop staff; craft development plans; train staff on both technical reserving mechanics as well as reserving theory; provide feedback.
  • Assist with other projects, as needed, and/or various other financial reporting items.


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • FCAS or seasoned ACAS.
  • 8+ years of property & casualty actuarial experience.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills are required, along with the ability to prioritize multiple competing deliverables and manage time effectively to meet scheduled due dates.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Managerial or supervisory experience; ability to work effectively with/through a staff of actuarial analysts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
