Role overview
The AVP (Assistant Vice President) of HR plays a critical role as primary business partner for our DUAL North America (NA) leaders, with an emphasis on the execution of talent management processes, employee relations investigations, benefits administration, and compliance. This role will manage an HR Business Partner as well as a Benefits & Leave specialist in the future, with the potential to grow the team based on business growth. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking for growth in their career and to make an immediate, positive impact. This is a hybrid role that will be expected to be in the office 2 days per week.

- Salary: $150,000-$185,000

Role responsibilities
- HR Business Partnering & Talent Management
- Work with business stakeholders to help spearhead people programs and strategies that enable our culture
- Lead all aspects of performance management, including coaching, feedback, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Lead performance management initiatives, working closely with division heads to review performance evaluations and develop improvement strategies
- Lead Talent Mapping, Succession Planning, and Compensation Reviews
- Support in delivering Manager & Leadership Development programs
- Facilitate team building and strategic planning exercises
- Support ongoing employee engagement initiatives, proactively identifying trends and implementing solutions that embed our People first Culture and drive high-performing teams
- Support with other HR projects as needed
- Employee Relations
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on a range of employee relations topics, including performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and workplace behavior
- Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts by facilitating discussions and offering practical solutions to enhance team dynamics
- Investigate employee complaints or grievances, document findings, and recommend appropriate resolutions
- Oversee the termination process, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws
- Benefits & Leave Administration
- Oversee the company's leave programs (FMLA, paid time off, disability, etc.) to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and compliance efforts (e.g. filing 5500s, managing 401k audits, participating in the 401k committee).
- Liaise between Payroll, Finance, HR Ops and Legal to ensure
- Oversee the administration of Workers' Compensation claims.
- People Management
- Mentor, coach, and develop a team of HR professionals
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or another related field
- 10+ years total of experience in HR across at least 3 of the following areas: HR Business Partnering, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Benefits & Leave Administration, Comp & Reward, HR Operations, or Learning & Development
- At least 3 years in a Management role within an HR function
- Proven ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with data analysis and using insights to inform decision-making
- Moderate to advanced skillsets in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (VLookUps, X LookUps, Pivot Tables, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize based on changing business needs, and a willingness to roll your sleeves up and work across a variety of HR workstreams
Preferred requirements
- Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, or another related field
- Experience in a fast-growing, small to mid-sized company, preferably in the financial industry
- Experience working in a federated business and partnering with COEs in other regions
- DiSC or MBTI certified, or an interest in becoming certified
- Experience facilitating team off-sites, strategy planning sessions, workshops, or other team building exercises
