Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To assist in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of the Environment of Care as it relates to Safety, Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and Hazardous Material and Waste throughout Woodhull.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Life Safety Management
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of the Environment of Care as it relates to Safety, Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and Hazardous Material and Waste throughout Woodhull.
- Monitor and evaluate adherence to regulations set by The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, EPA, and state and local authorities regarding safety, fire safety, and environmental protection.
- Implement safety program to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, and industrial health and safety laws.
- Provide a comprehensive fire safety training program.
- assist in ensuring safety policies and written programs are current and properly communicated or implemented.
- Prepare statistical reports for meetings, summaries of deficiencies, problems, failures, and user errors related to the fire safety program.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration,
health care administration, public health or a related discipline; or
2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as described in "1" above,
and one (1) year of administrative experience; or
3. An equivalent combination of training, college education and experience in related fields.
