Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division is currently hiring Metrology Engineer 2 to join our team qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Material, Process and Services team under Engineering Asset Management.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division is currently hiring Metrology Engineer 2 to join our team qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Material, Process and Services team under Engineering Asset Management.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain laboratory recognition/accreditation
- Conduct technical audits of the calibration laboratory (including suppliers) to verify traceability of standards and compliance with published standards and guidelines
- Develop and lead technical audits of the calibration laboratory (including suppliers) to verify traceability of standards and compliance with published standards and guidelines
- Perform technical assessments for personnel performance reviews
- Develop, document, and maintain procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements
- Develop calibration systems and procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements
- Inspect and evaluate new calibration standards for proper operation before releasing to calibration laboratory
- Recommend standards for use in calibration applications, including Test Equipment Justification
- Design and document measurement reference material for laboratory use
- Research and develop calibration standards & systems
- Provide technical input to quotes
- Perform Equipment Performance Report evaluations
- Perform interval analysis
- Design, develop and validate calibration and measurement software
- Perform calibrations as required
- Assist projects in trouble shooting and root cause analysis of measurement issues or measurement system problems and advise project engineers in measurement techniques & equipment operation
- Perform state-of-the-art or special measurements
- Develop, implement and maintain the calibration laboratory's quality systems per published standards and guidelines
- Evaluate and recommend M&TE for use in measurement applications
- Evaluate supplier's products and provide feedback; work with suppliers to resolve product issues and make improvement recommendations
- Train technicians and engineers in calibration methodologies and measurement principles
- Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes

- Bachelor of Science in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline with 3 years of related work experience OR Masters of Science in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline with 1 years of related work experience
- Experience in using a variety of DC/Low Frequency "and or" electrical/electronic measuring and test equipment
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 Years' relevant experience with BS; 3 Years with Master's degree
- Current and active Secret/SCI clearance
