Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Shift: 3 12-hour shifts: 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM
Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Guaranteed Hours: 40.00
Experience: General and vascular experience required
License: Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Certifications:
- Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from ARDMS or Competency & Credentialing Institute
- Vascular certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date, accepted from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Must-Have:
- RDMS and RVT credentials
Job Description:
- Perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation.
- Set up and adjust equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
- Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
- Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
- Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS with image quality, correct lead markers, and accurate patient data/history.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other department areas.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree within 6 months of hire, or Technical degree required within 6 months of hire.
