Desired Experience and Background for Success
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant fields)
  • Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits
  • Familiarity with fundamental programming principles
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems
  • Understanding of Direct Digital Control (DDC) theory and applications
  • Familiarity with typical construction job sites, including the need for personal protective equipment
  • Comfort with ladder use
  • Ability to perform small repetitive motions and handle small tools

The base salary for this position ranges from $68,000 to $124,000, depending on experience and tenure.

Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role within the team, ensuring the successful completion of complex projects. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and engineering building automation and energy management systems, adhering to local energy codes, sustainability initiatives, project plans, and other relevant documents
  • Analyzing system performance across various levels, ensuring documentation is thorough and accurate
  • Evaluating the performance of building control and mechanical systems
  • Developing project-specific programming solutions to enhance building efficiency
  • Designing custom interfaces for end-users to interact with systems
  • Directly interfacing with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members
  • Programming complex DDC (Direct Digital Control) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems to meet project specifications
  • Gaining experience in project financial tracking through audits and post-project reviews
  • Contributing to company-wide standards and continuous improvement efforts

Work Schedule and Travel
  • Regular workdays are Monday to Friday
  • Local travel is required up to 50% of the time, with mileage reimbursed
  • The role combines office-based work with field visits to project sites, up to 50% of the time
