Job Requirements:
- Lead and manage a team of account executives, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- Provide ongoing training and development to the sales team, keeping them informed about product updates and industry knowledge.
- Ride-along with sales associates and provide timely feedback for continuous development and improvement.
- Engage sales associates to build a robust and sustainable development plan for professional growth geared towards mid and long-term career aspirations and goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement performance evaluation processes to regularly assess effectiveness and success of the sales team.
- Provide constructive feedback and identify areas for improvement, ensuring that the team consistently meets or exceeds targets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue in Canada. Identify growth opportunities and potential key accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including medical laboratories, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
- Manage the national sales budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to achieve sales objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships not only with customers but also with key stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem, such as provincial health authorities, procurement teams, and influential opinion leaders in clinical diagnostics.
- Monitor and analyze sales data to accurately forecast sales trends, track performance, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of long-term sales strategies and growth plans for the clinical diagnostics division in Canada.
- Ensure the deals in each territory are done in a manner to build sustainable growth and profitability for the company as well as contributing towards company financial KPIs.
- Develop a deep understanding of our diagnostic products and keep up to date with the latest advancements and industry trends.
- Work with senior leadership to align sales initiatives with broader company objectives.
- Stay informed about competitive products, market trends, and industry developments in the clinical diagnostics field. Use this intelligence to adapt sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing and business development, to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and customer engagement.
- Ensure that all sales activities and customer engagements comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, particularly in the healthcare sector. This could include compliance with Health Canada regulations and guidelines specific to diagnostic products.
- Complete all required internal reports including but not limited to strategy and activity, key projects update, sales results vs goal, year over year analysis and forecasting in a timely and accurate manner.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Clinical laboratory staff with equivalent experience can be considered as well.
- Advanced degree (MBA, M.Sc would be considered an asset).
- Proven experience in sales (7-10+) and sales management (3+) in the clinical diagnostics or medical device industry.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and CRM software
- Strong leadership and team management skills required.
- Change management experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to both internal teams and external customers.
- Knowledge of diagnostics products and industry regulations.
- Results-oriented with a history of achieving or surpassing targets.
- Superior negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel (overnight territory up to 40% of time depending on home base location). International travel may be required periodically.
- Home office is required for remote work tasks.
