Minimum Qualifications & Abilities:
- Master's Degree, including all courses necessary to meet credential requirements.
- Valid California credential authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned, including Clinical Rehabilitative Services credential.
- Must be able to work effectively with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
Essential Functions:
- Identifies and uses diagnostic assessment materials and procedures that are appropriate for the intended use; considers student's cultural, linguistic, and disability background when choosing assessment tools; applies evaluation data and findings to intervention, instruction, programming, and services through written reports, intervention plans, and/or meetings.
- Conducts speech/language screenings and evaluations that are compliant with federal and state regulations; effectively communicates evaluation findings to parents and school staff through written reports and conferences; utilizes evaluation findings to inform accurate eligibility, placement, and service decisions.
- Designs and implements appropriate intervention strategies, including application of technology; monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
- Provides speech/language services through a variety of delivery models.
- Provides information relative to speech, language, and communication disorders to students, parents, teachers, and others as appropriate.
- Collaborates with teachers and parents regarding program content and speech/language services.
- Provides augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
- Collects student performance data.
- Establishes and maintains a daily schedule of speech/language services.
- Implements requirements of federal and state regulations.
- Maintains records and reports required by district, state, and federal agencies.
- Provides quarterly reports regarding educational progress towards goals/objectives to parents and school personnel for each student on his/her caseload.
- Develops parent and staff trainings related to supporting communicative needs.
- Complete MediCal Billing.
- Participates in professional growth activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.
