Compensation Range:
$87,708.00 - $122,792.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Completes defined scope and standards of practice. Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps and collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes. Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty, and partner for practice transitions. Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public.

Exciting opportunity to participate in a growing oncology nursing education program. Responsibilities will include coordinating Wilmot Cancer Institute (WCI) nursing orientation and onboarding to the WCI service. Working closely with unit-based Nursing Professional Development (NPD) practitioners to ensure that all mandatory education is completed. Work with service, unit leaders, and NPD practitioners, to provide continuing education to meet the educational and regulatory needs of staff. WCI nursing representation at various service and hospital-based committees and initiatives. Develop and coordinate service-based courses (e.g., preceptor course, OCN review, BMTCN review, & chemotherapy course) as needed to meet the educational needs of staff. Assume the role of nurse planner for continuing education credit at the service level. Assist with the central and oncology Nursing Residency Programs. Serve as a resource/mentor to staff. Initiate projects independently and upon the direction of WCI leadership/Directors of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and contribute to a team environment are critical to success in this position. 3-5 years of oncology nursing experience required; Oncology certification preferred. A master's degree in nursing education or a nursing-related field is required.
