Job Description The Enterprise Business Architect will be responsible for assessing and improving WCB
business processes that includes, but is not limited to:
) Develop and maintain the business architecture framework, aligning it with Enterprise
rchitecture Office (EAO) and WCB's goals and strategies;
b) Collaborate with stakeholders to define business capabilities, processes, and value
streams to support transformation initiatives aligned with WCB IT objectives;
c) Assess and improve business processes, and alignment between EAO, and other groups
within IT or business units to drive efficiency and agility;
d) Provide strategic guidance on business models, and investment priorities for the WCB's
IT; and
e) Work closely with IT and leadership to ensure technology solutions align with business
needs and enterprise architecture principles. Skill set info The Enterprise Business Architect must have experience, knowledge, and capabilities with
the following:
) Proven Experience in Enterprise Architecture Frameworks: Demonstrated hands-on expertise with TOGAF or FEAF frameworks, with a solid track record in developing and maintaining enterprise-level architecture models, business capability maps, and reference architectures;
b) Strong Business Architecture Design Skills: Ability to translate strategic business goals into target-state business capabilities, value streams, organizational structures, and supporting business processes and technologies;
c) Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional ability to engage with C-level executives, business leaders, IT architects, and delivery teams to align architecture strategy with business goals and drive consensus;
d) Experience in Developing Multi-Year Business Architecture Roadmaps: Aligning initiatives with enterprise strategy, identifying business transformation opportunities, and managing portfolio prioritization;
e) Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving Ability: Strong competency in analysing complex business challenges, assessing impacts across value streams, and architecting scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective enterprise solutions;
f) Excellent Communication and Documentation Skills: Ability to clearly articulate architectural concepts, business capability models, and transition states to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through well-crafted presentations, documentation, and visual models; and
g) Experience with Architecture Tools and Modelling Languages: Proficient in using any of tools such as Sparx EA, MEGA, BizzDesign, or ArchiMate forbusiness architecture modelling, capability mapping, and business model visualization.
The Enterprise Business Architect should have experience and knowledge with the
following:
) Familiarity with insurance value chains (e.g., underwriting, claims, policy administration, reinsurance), industry regulations, and market dynamics to provide deeper alignment between architecture and business strategy; Education Certifications (if required) Documentation Required for submission Work Hours The Services shall normally be performed during Business Hours. However, the WCB may request some of the Services to be performed outside Business Hours from time to time, as deemed necessary, in the unfettered discretion of the WCB.
