The Regional Transfer Center (RTC) Nurse Coordinator (NC) has several roles in assuring the safe and timely coordination of care for patients across the University of Vermont Health Network and region. The Level 2 Nurse Coordinator successfully acts in at least two both of the following roles:
Qualifications:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. A minimum of 2 years of RN experience is required.

The Regional Transfer Center (RTC) Nurse Coordinator (NC) has several roles in assuring the safe and timely coordination of care for patients across the University of Vermont Health Network and region. The Level 2 Nurse Coordinator successfully acts in at least two both of the following roles:
- Transfer Role: He/she fields calls from physicians who are seeking support in coordination of care for patients in various capacities. The NC coordinates emergent, urgent or specialty treatment by applying clinical expertise and working directly with the involved care providers and network/regional hospitals.
- Logistics Role: This nurse uses critical thinking and collaborative decision making to act as a traffic controller to support patient flow in each network facility in collaboration with their local resources.
- Transfer Back Coordinator Role: The NC leverages network resources to oversee and coordinates all transfer backs and reports out at the Network Daily Pulse Check.
