We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Systems Technician to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot various electronic systems and equipment, including but not limited to radars, radios, computers, cellular phones, closed-circuit TV camera systems, Smart City devices, cable TV, security systems, runway lighting, paging systems, fire alarms, and other related electronic, control, and signaling systems.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Systems Technician to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot various electronic systems and equipment, including but not limited to radars, radios, computers, cellular phones, closed-circuit TV camera systems, Smart City devices, cable TV, security systems, runway lighting, paging systems, fire alarms, and other related electronic, control, and signaling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Repairs & Maintenance: Repair and maintain a wide range of electronic systems and equipment such as radars, radios, computer systems, antennas, closed-circuit TV camera systems, Smart City devices, and more.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnosis: Perform troubleshooting, testing, and diagnostics to identify issues with components and systems, including calibrating and performing bench and field repairs at the component level.
- Design & Fabrication: Design and fabricate circuits and related equipment to modify existing systems or resolve unique technical challenges.
- System Installation: Install and maintain a variety of communication and signaling systems, including radio systems, antennas, CCTV, video equipment, microwave transmitters/receivers, alarm systems, computer data systems, and more.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular preventative maintenance on electronic control and signaling equipment to minimize future repairs and ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications.
- Service Contracts & Equipment Evaluation: Review service contracts, assess current equipment, and recommend new equipment purchases as needed.
- Training & Support: Provide training and maintenance instructions to operators and installers of specialized systems, ensuring they can operate and maintain systems effectively.
- System Monitoring & Operation: Operate computer systems designed to monitor and/or control specific electronic and electrical systems.
- Technical Documentation: Research and prepare technical reports, manuals, and detailed documentation outlining processes, procedures, and completed repair work.
- Programming & System Expansion: Write computer programs compatible with existing operating systems to expand the functionality of systems as needed.
- On-Call Support: May be required to be on-call for emergent needs, responding to after-hours or emergency calls outside of normal business hours.
- Additional Duties: Assist with snow removal duties and perform any other related tasks as assigned.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of electronic systems, circuits, and components, as well as troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with system design, installation, and maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and system analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to resolve technical issues promptly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other departments.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting equipment and working in various environments.
- Must be willing to work outside of regular hours for emergency repairs or project needs.
Minimum Qualifications

- Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience building and maintaining electronic systems and equipment and making component level repairs.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
- License/Certifications: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
- Requires a valid CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) certification by the end of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
