Investment Associate (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ):

Develop and maintain historical credit and equity datasets using SQL and Python. Design and implement quantitative techniques to uncover trends in markets and competitors. Perform fundamental credit analysis as a part of credit rating review process. Enhance internal credit models for scenario testing purposes. Write scripts in SQL and Python to automate data extraction. Create dashboards in Tableau that visualize insurer portfolio investment trends. Evaluate and work with new data sources and analytic packages.

Telecommuting permitted up to 60% per week.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Economics or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in all of the following:

  • Advanced skills in SQL
  • Python or R
  • Data visualization such as Tableau/Python
  • Analyzing investment data, in particular related to fixed income investments
  • Knowledge of data science techniques.
