Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for the Rating Analyst team.
- Foster an environment of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration.
- Act as a servant leader by removing roadblocks, advocating for the team, and ensuring resources are available for success.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team check-ins to assess progress, provide feedback, and align goals.
- Lead performance management efforts, including goal setting, performance reviews, and coaching conversations.
- Effectively address performance challenges with fairness and transparency while fostering a growth-oriented mindset.
Daily Inventory Management & Workflow Optimization
- Monitor and manage daily inventory levels, ensuring workloads are balanced across the team.
- Prioritize and distribute quote requests to maintain efficiency and meet service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Proactively address potential backlog issues by reallocating resources or adjusting workflows as needed.
- Track turnaround times and productivity metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure team members adhere to internal workflow protocols and effectively utilize CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and quoting systems for tracking and transparency.
Proactive Sales & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with sales representatives, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a primary point of contact for sales teams, ensuring seamless communication and support throughout the quoting process.
- Anticipate potential challenges and proactively engage with sales representatives to resolve issues before they escalate.
- Provide guidance and education on quoting processes, carrier guidelines, and plan customization options.
- Partner with sales leadership to align the Rating Analyst team's efforts with broader business objectives.
Operational Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Oversee the end-to-end quote generation process to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with carrier guidelines.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to streamline quoting procedures and enhance productivity.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to minimize errors and maintain a high standard of service.
Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving
- Partner with senior leadership to identify areas for operational improvement and develop solutions that align with business objectives.
- Proactively identify inefficiencies, escalate issues, and recommend process enhancements.
- Analyze quoting trends and team performance metrics to refine strategies and optimize workflow.
Client & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Support brokers, sales representatives, and account managers by providing expert guidance on quoting processes and product offerings.
- Ensure the team delivers an exceptional customer experience by responding promptly and effectively to inquiries.
- Provide clarity and education on employee benefits plan structures, coverage options, and premium costs as needed.
Training & Development
- Create and facilitate training sessions to enhance team knowledge of quoting systems, carrier/vendor guidelines, and industry trends.
- Ensure new hires receive comprehensive onboarding and ongoing coaching to reach performance expectations.
- Encourage continuous learning by sharing industry updates and market insights with the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Leadership experience - Two (2) years experience supervising or mentoring a team or as a technical SME in a high-volume, detail-oriented environment preferred.
- Servant leadership mindset - Ability to lead by example, empower team members, and cultivate a positive, inclusive work environment.
- Strong organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities, workflows, and deadlines with precision.
- Daily inventory management experience - Two (2) years in tracking and balancing workloads to maintain operational efficiency.
- Proactive relationship management - Ability to cultivate and sustain strong relationships with sales representatives and brokers.
- Strategic and tactical thinker - Able to balance long-term objectives with day-to-day execution.
- Comfortable with difficult conversations - Skilled in providing constructive feedback.
- Industry knowledge - Three (3) years experience with employee benefits products (health, dental, vision, ancillary) is preferred.
- Technical proficiency - Intermediate to expert experience with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and quoting tools.
- Analytical mindset - Proven track record of using data to drive process improvements.
- Customer service excellence - Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.`
Working Conditions
- Remote-first position with occasional in-office attendance for meetings, training, or team collaboration as required.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, with overtime during peak periods, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Minimal travel may be required for client meetings or training.
Compensation
- Annual Salary Range*: $88,000 - $95,000 per year
- Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
