Job description

Summary:
As a member of the Supply Chain team, Buyer II is responsible for reviewing and approving supplier invoices. Additionally, the Buyer II will contribute to the team by prepairing and placing direct purchase orders utilizing Safran Test Cell's ERP system to support projects, aftermarket sales, and internal operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under Commodity Manager(s) and/or Senior Buyer guidance, write RFQ's, follow them through their entire lifecycle; maintain proactive, cross-functional communication throughout process
Prepare and place direct and indirect purchase orders utilizing company ERP system to support projects, aftermarket sales, and internal operations
Perform daily work and utilize reports in Dynamics that support on-time delivery, quality, and best cost of goods and services
Track and expedite orders, solving problems such as late delivery, variation from specifications, incorrect pricing, etc.
Organize, update, and retain procurement files and information within the share drive and ERP system
Participate as a team member to achieve business, departmental, and personal goals
Review and approve supplier invoices, ensuring that pricing is correct and all pertinent quality documents and approvals are complete
Resolve any issues that could delay payment in a timely manner
Work with Project Management and others to determine if/when invoices should be paid

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, promote quality, decrease inefficiencies in manufacturing times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively with project principles.
Complete CI projects as delegated by Supply Chain Manager.
Ensure open and direct communications with domestic and international; suppliers regarding cost, quality, and delivery expectations per project requirements.
Coordinate with Project Management to meet budgets and delivery schedules.
Assist Commodity Manager(s) in sourcing project and aftermarket products through approved vendors; assist in alternative sources as needed.
Support logistics function responsibilities, such as completing shipping documentation, arranging crating services, working with freight forwarders and courier services to arrange delivery of equipment.
Assist Commodity Manager(s) in the completion of quarterly supplier scorecards and KPI's; assess whether quality, lead time, cost, and service levels have been attained.
Work with Safran Test Cells EU counterparts on Safran Test Cells International proposals and bids.
Assume responsibilities of Logistics Coordinator as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Travel specifictity
Able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time both domestically and internationally, as required
Candidate skills & requirements

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred
In Lieu of a degree, 2-4+ years of experience in manufacturing procurement, preferably both domestic and international will be considered
High School diploma or GED required

Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to be assertive yet approachable delivering a positive customer service and team experience
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; actively seeks opportunities to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met
Proficient with MS Office programs to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task, prioritize and excel in a fast-paced environment while exercising initiative and judgment as well as making decisions within scope of assigned authority
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills including problem identification, analysis, action planning and execution
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of the purchasing flow cycle
Knowledge of common international business practices relating to purchasing, currency, costing, payment terms, Incoterms, shipping and taxes
Ability to read and interpret engineering Bills of Material
