About Us

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is responsible for overseeing Saskatchewan's correctional system and facilities and providing guidance and support to Saskatchewan's municipal policing services.

The Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford Integrated Correctional Facility (SHNB ICF) is an integrated psychiatric facility with 188 beds for patients and 96 secure beds for male and female adult offenders living with mental health issues who are provided specialized support. Our mission is to provide innovative, patient-centered therapeutic services to patients, which contributes to safe, and healthy communities

The Opportunity

The Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford Integrated Correctional Facility is seeking an analytical, resourceful, results-oriented professional to join our team as the Deputy Director of Programs and Standards. In collaboration with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, we work to strategically and cooperatively address the mental health and criminogenic risks and needs of our patients/offenders.

As a Deputy Director of Programs and Standards, you will:

  • lead all processes related to the SHNB ICF compliance with standards, policy and regulation.
  • conduct and supervise regulatory decision-making processes and while maintaining a strong and active communications function;
  • provide leadership, support, direction and counsel to middle managers, supervisors, teacher therapists, cultural coordinators and other staff members to promote and achieve organizational goals;
  • initiate, establish and maintain effective working relationships with provincial, inter-provincial, federal and community/non-government agencies to augment and ensure timely, qualified human service recruitment and delivery. This includes providing information, explanation, and interpretation of data, policies and procedures; and,
  • be responsible for patient program standards and management techniques in order to develop specific programs and processes to manage patients and address their criminogenic factors;

Typically, the knowledge and experience required to achieve the above is obtained through: a post-secondary degree in a Human Service discipline, combined with prior experience demonstrating a progressive level of supervision and program responsibilities. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
