Position Overview

The Senior Process Engineering Manager is a key leader responsible for driving process advancements, scaling new production methods, and enhancing existing systems in partnership with our New Product Development team. This role supports manufacturing lines producing personal care items (such as lotions, balms, and creams) and over-the-counter (OTC) products, ensuring smooth development and implementation of processes.
The position involves overseeing the Process Engineering team of 3, serving as a technical authority to recommend equipment that aligns with process requirements, designing and integrating necessary utilities, and managing projects from initial concept through to completion. This includes creating process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and detailed project scope documents with drawings to support contractor bidding and execution.
Additionally, the Senior Process Engineering Manager collaborates with internal and external engineering teams to design and deploy automation solutions, optimizing production efficiency and control. This role blends technical expertise with leadership to uphold our dedication to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering leadership to craft a process engineering roadmap that prioritizes projects to boost efficiency and support company growth.
- Build a development plan for the Process Engineering team, mentoring junior engineers and encouraging skill expansion.
- Identify, design, and lead process improvement initiatives from start to finish, enhancing efficiency, cutting costs, and elevating product quality.
- Prepare detailed project scope documents, including plans and specifications, while ensuring projects stay on track with timelines and goals.
- Guide and mentor a team of process engineers, offering direction, coaching, and performance insights.
- Spearhead cross-functional collaboration with departments like Production, Safety, Maintenance, and Quality to drive process enhancements.
- Train and support production staff on new processes and technologies.
- Design and implement innovative processes and equipment to improve manufacturing performance and product consistency.
- Investigate process challenges, perform root cause analysis, and develop and execute solutions.
- Analyze process data to pinpoint trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, presenting actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee process improvement projects, maintaining alignment with budgets, schedules, and scope.
- Establish process engineering standards (e.g., equipment libraries, project frameworks, cost models) to organize historical data effectively.
- Keep up-to-date with cutting-edge process engineering and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in process engineering, including at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Background in personal care or cosmetics manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals, including unit operations, process control, and simulation tools.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, particularly with equipment such as mixers, agitators, pumps, fillers, and valves.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Strategic mindset with a knack for envisioning and executing long-term process improvement plans.
- Superior problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Skill in explaining and resolving complex process issues for varied audiences.
- Demonstrated project management expertise, including planning, execution, and oversight.

Travel Requirements
