07/01/2025The Dunklin R-5 School District is seeking a proven, dynamic educational leader to join the administrative team at Herculaneum High School. The successful candidate will assist the building principal in setting the direction for educational programs, guiding the school to higher academic achievement, be responsible for student supervision, student discipline and managing building daily operation demands of a growing student population. In addition, the candidate must have a successful record of establishing strong positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining and organizing the overall program of interscholastic athletics and extracurricular activities. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a master's degree and Principal certification, at least 3 years of outstanding administrative/teaching experience and demonstrate the following:
  • Implement and enforce the district's student discipline policy
  • Coordinate and oversee student organizations and activities
  • Assist in the facilitation of a professional learning plan for staff
  • Evaluate teaching performance to identify strengths and areas for growth in implementing best practices
  • Facilitate the development of a shared mission and vision and communicate it to the community
  • Implement programs within established standards, Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, and state laws as they apply to the local school
  • Work with students, staff, and parents to establish and maintain a safe, clean environment
  • Assist building principal in selecting, assigning and evaluating all coaching personnel, and sponsors
  • Represent the school district in matters of interscholastic athletics with MSHSAA, the Jefferson County Athletic Conference, and football conference. Representing the school at the various professional meetings concerned with activities and athletics
  • Evaluate, plan, encourage, and recommend improvements in the activities program
  • Make necessary arrangements for and schedule all activities and social events. When required, arrange transportation for students participating
  • Organize, coordinate, and schedule the use of all middle school and high school athletic events, fields and facilities used for sporting events by student and community groups
  • Responsible for constructing, coordinating and distributing schedules of all student activity events on a master schedule
  • Schedule staff members to supervise all after-school activities
  • Inform the principal, teachers, and students concerning eligibility requirements for participation on athletic teams and in all activities
  • Secure applications and make recommendations to the principal for selection of all interscholastic athletic coaches
  • Assume responsibility for the administration of the athletic program

Salary range: $82,000.00 - $95,000.00 Commensurate with education and experience; 12-month contracted position

Benefits: Board Paid Health Life, and Dental Insurance, Employees will be offered, on a fee basis, in-district childcare for ages birth through two with preschool available from ages 3-5. PSRS Retirement, optional supplemental insurance plans, and optional 403b; 457 plans.
