About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About you:

You are an experienced Senior Business Analyst ideally in the Cards and Payment space. You have a deep understanding of Acquiring sponsorship, merchant onboarding and settlement activities. You have a strong business acumen which includes an understanding of business, financial, operations and reputational risks. You excel at ensuring the efficient and effective monitoring of client obligations, identifying potential risks and recommending remedial actions. Your recommendations to internal stakeholders are thoughtful and address key issues to be resolved while considering all potential risk mitigants.

About the qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experienceas Business Analyst, Risk Management/ Audit professional, preferably in banking or financial services sector.
  • Financial/ Commercial Acumen. Primary leveldegree in business, financeor a relevant professional qualification.
  • Proven experience withdata analysisand tools such as Excel, or business intelligence software;strong attention to details.
  • Technical Knowledge on Merchant Acquiring Service and Network requirements (VISA, Mastercard and others) Familiarity with digital banking trends and FinTech Solutions.
  • Knowledge ofCanadian Payments Landscapeand functional knowledge of Payments.
  • Proficiency inbusiness process modeling and workflow analysis.


About the day-to-day:

  • Execute monitoring procedures forrisk assessmentfrom the Payments and Cards Client relationship. Support timely and accurate completion of business processes around client monitoring.
  • Performdue-diligence and risk assessmentsfor Acquiring clients.
  • Proactively investigate, refer or escalate operation issuesas needed based on clear understanding of the issue, connecting with appropriate department/ partner to facilitate resolution and ensure that service quality is maintained.
  • Actively apply critical thoughts to existing tools, controls and processes, make recommendations and test solutions.
  • Refer or escalate processing or operational issues as needed based on a solid understanding of the issue, connecting with the appropriate department/partner to facilitate resolution and ensure that service quality is maintained.
