ATI is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Programming) to join our facility located in East Hartford, CT. The primary purpose of this job is to create CNC programs in NX and/or Master Cam to be able to machine parts on CNC equipment to customer requirements.

Essential Functions(other duties may be assigned)

  • Use NX or Master Cam to create CNC program to manufacture aerospace parts to finished dimensions
  • Develop the manufacturing process of a part
  • Understand the potential movement of a part during the machining process and how to control movement of the part
  • Follow software control procedures utilizing the DNC to control programs
  • Determine cutting tool type needed
  • Develop process routing in ERP system and update Bill of Requirements and Bill of Material
  • Create operation sheets, setup sheets, and part models in NX and/or Master Cam
  • Design tooling/fixtures needed for machining parts
  • Provide support in root cause analysis and process corrective action
  • Participate and support in continuous improvement activities

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent years' experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role with a metal working environment specific to turning and milling of forged and cast products for the aerospace industry

Essential Skills

  • Understanding of machine controls
  • Skilled in utilizing Unigraphics and Mastercam for programming, modeling, creating work instructions, i.e. operation sheets and setup sheets
  • Skilled in process expertise in turning, milling, and inspection, cutting tools and their materials, fixture and tool procurement, general setup, and part qualification practices
  • Ability to work well with others as a member of a team
