Job Description

Reporting to the Interprofessional Practice Manager, the Corporate Professional Practice Clinician (PPC) is responsible for actively contributing to a progressive education and learning environment focused on enhancing professional practice across the organization. This position will provide professional practice expertise and consult on specific corporate initiatives as well as high priority clinical projects as a participant and/or lead. This role will support corporate consumable contracts and backorders, including education when practice changes are required. In addition, the Corporate PPC participates on organizational committees; participates in and provides oversight of the interprofessional clinical orientation across the organization; promotes practice innovation, interprofessional learning and professional development; and develops, reviews and revises evidence-based policies and procedures related to clinical/professional practice and patient care.

The Corporate PPC serves as a key partner to the Director of Professional Practice and Chief Practice Information Officer, the Interprofessional Practice Manager, the organization's Clinical Program Directors, Patient Care Managers, department specific PPCs and other professional disciplines and departments.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with Masters Degree in Nursing, Education or Health Administration required
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience as an educator or professional practice leader with a passion for teaching
  • Skilled in the principles of adult learning and knowledge translation
  • Skilled in crucial conversations and facilitating projects that cross multiple programs and specialties
  • Knowledge of best practices, clinical practice guidelines, clinical management tools, policies and procedures
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements in healthcare
  • Excellent interprofessional, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to plan, initiate and complete corporate projects
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
  • Creative and resourceful
  • Agility and resilience
  • Ability to prioritize/organize multiple projects and meet required deadlines
  • Ability to travel between all 3 hospitals
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates a pattern of lifelong learning
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.


Additional Information

Status: Permanent Full-time

Hours: Monday to Friday; 7.5 hour days shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $51.537 to $63.851 per hour
