The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is on the lookout for a passionate, resourceful Business Analyst who is a great communicator, negotiator, and facilitator. You will be a part of our Project Management Team (PMO) responsible for planning, driving, and execution of initiatives. You will facilitate and gather requirements from stakeholders, model business processes, and refine visions into clear functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, rationalizing, planning, prioritizing, and monitoring the acceptability of stories in a timely manner using the AMA Agile Framework and tools.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Report to the Portfolio Manager, and you'll be a part of the Portfolio Management Team.
  • Support ADO reporting and rigor around requirements, process and documentation.
  • Enhance project management processes, templates, checklists, best practices, policies, lessons-learned documents and methodologies for use by others on behalf of the PMO/EPMO.
  • Gather business/user requirements to support the functional or business solution by conducting interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process description, uses cases, tasks, and workflow analysis.
  • Provide recommendations regarding enhancements to business processes and applications.
  • Be the liaison between business units and Agile delivery teams.
  • Evaluate a problem from both a business and member perspective to determine the best resolution approach.
  • Participate in daily triage/scrum meetings to resolve issues, address changes and report on progress.
  • Work with scrum team members to ensure the sprints content produces a functional package to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Report on sprint metrics to identify any major issues by keeping the AMA tracking tool up-to-date and running metric report required for regular status cadence meetings.
  • Support PMO on project review, audit and reporting; including stakeholder surveys and contribute to maintaining or improving ratings.
  • Decompose the features into user stories to support priority business value delivery.
  • Participate in client journey mapping exercises to create a more member-centric approach to serving members.


WHAT YOU'VE DONE
  • You have post-secondary education/certification in an applicable functional or business designation.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of industry/functional experience under your belt.
  • You have strong business analysis skills, particularly in the areas of facilitating requirements gathering and business process modeling sessions, managing requirements, and producing business process models.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc).
  • Experienced in agile project delivery methodologies; certification(s) would be an asset.
  • Experience in Project Management and/or Change Management.
  • Business Analyst certification would be an asset.
  • Has the ability to operate with limited level of direct supervision, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Be a team player and commitment to deliver the highest quality work product.
  • Familiar with Azure DevOps and MS Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, MS Teams, etc).
