Description:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for supporting the effective, high quality, and timely delivery of multiple custom residential design build projects from Construction Documentation Review through Construction Administration. This includes support and coordination of all internal and external design professionals to produce high quality results in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
The Quality Control Manager will manage and provide oversight focused on the communication processes between internal project teams and trade partners. The Quality Control Manager will also support the VP of Architecture in special projects or quality control initiatives. The Quality Control Manager is also responsible for coordinating and assisting related workflow with other Blue Heron departments including Architecture, Interior Design, Production, Project Operations, and Construction.

Essential Qualifications
The Quality Control Manager will manage and provide oversight focused on the communication processes between internal project teams and trade partners. The Quality Control Manager will also support the VP of Architecture in special projects or quality control initiatives. The Quality Control Manager is also responsible for coordinating and assisting related workflow with other Blue Heron departments including Architecture, Interior Design, Production, Project Operations, and Construction.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage standardized processes and procedures related to construction administration including submittal review, specification revisions, and field communications to be implemented within the Design Team and cross-departmentally
- Collaborate with the VP of Architecture to develop design standards based on lessons learned and QAQC feedback
- Support Project Operations and Construction teams by creating and documenting solutions related to constructability
- Collaborate with Design Team to ensure processes and procedures are implemented with projects
- Incorporate the Blue Heron design standards for drawings and support Best Practices development and documentation
- Mentor and train QA/QC staff
- Promote and encourage the alignment with Blue Heron Core Values, Policies, Philosophies, Processes, and Methodologies
- Ensure that the design vision is accurately implemented in the field through consistent communication with the design team, superintendent, and regular field visits
- Communicate and coordinate with Design and Production Team for items related to standardization of internal processes and procedures
- Communicate changes and/or design intent to trade partners and subcontractors to ensure that trade partners have the most up-to-date information prior to fabrication and/or installation.
- Review and respond to submittals and RFI's
- Review and redline design drawings and shop drawings
- Provide support and technical assistance to internal Design Team by producing and coordinating deliverables, meeting deadlines, and milestones
- Support the Design Team as they interface with the Blue Heron Construction Management QAQC team to collect data and identify areas of the details that may not meet constructability and quality standards. Develop details and methods for addressing such issues and maintain evolving standards
- Provide clear and concise red-line feedback to in-house multi-disciplinary design and production staff
- Work directly with internal stakeholders to verify functionality of details

- Special Purpose, Vendor, and Company Meetings
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture or related field. Licensed Architect a plus
- 10+ years of architectural experience with 5+ years of experience working with residential construction
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable
- Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- High level of professionalism, effective communicator, and problem solver
- Ability to articulate thoughts and actively listen to communicate effectively with co-workers and vendors
- High level construction knowledge to understand construction process, terminology, codes, and the ability to effectively communicate with Superintendents and Design Teams
- Ability to comprehend all documentation related to the design process, including architectural drawings and specifications, interior design drawings and specifications, finish schedules, and appendices
- Ability to self-manage, provide direction, meet timelines, complete tasks, and work on multiple projects at one time with accuracy and detail
- Exceptional cross-functional collaborative attitude and drive to deliver effective results

- SketchUp and Revit-Intermediate Knowledge
- Possess a valid Nevada driver's license and personal automobile available
- Ability to communicate in English effectively with other individuals
