Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the nursing program within the department, ensuring alignment with hospital leadership to maintain high standards of patient/resident care. This role involves advising management, nursing staff, and executive leadership on nursing services, recommending policy changes, and developing organizational structures and performance standards in line with industry standards. In collaboration with hospital leadership, the Director interprets policies and objectives of nursing services to both staff and the community, develops budgets, and ensures compliance with performance targets.

Primary Duties:
- Establish and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in committees and provide leadership direction for the facility.
- Lead daily operations and take appropriate actions to ensure smooth functioning.
- Conduct daily rounds with residents, nursing staff, and families to ensure positive outcomes. Supervise nursing managers and provide clear direction.
- Demonstrate the ability to coordinate emergency responses in a calm and effective manner.
- Prepare operational and capital budgets annually.
- Attend care conferences to ensure the coordination of resident care needs.
- Participate in monthly continuous quality improvement (CQI) and quarterly meetings, ensuring goals are met.
- Meet regularly with medical leadership to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Ensure accurate and cooperative communication with external hospital systems.
- Market the facility through regular outreach, including phone calls, visits, and distribution of promotional materials.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience:
- Associate's degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or acute care setting
- At least 3 years of experience in a nurse manager role
- Current RN License
Physical Demands:
