Job Summary:

Newmark's San Francisco Multifamily Capital Markets Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the sale, financing, and recapitalization of multifamily assets on a team with more than $100 billion in closed transactions in the Western U.S. and national portfolio sales. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in real estate finance, a passion for the multifamily sector, and a desire to support our team in executing strategic deals.

Essential Job Duties:
Provide detailed analyses and reports on property and portfolio valuations and market conditions.
Work closely with senior team members on financial analysis and marketing presentations.
Conduct market research, due diligence collection and review, and real estate analysis to support team decision-making.
Prepare financial models, including pro forma projections and unlevered and levered cash flow analyses.
Monitor market trends and maintain a database of relevant market data.
Aid in production of pitches, proposals, and marketing materials.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

Other Job Functions:
  • Assist finance and accounting personnel on various projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, Economics or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of extensive financial analysis and data management knowledge - prior experience in the commercial real estate industry required.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, valuation methods, cash flow analysis, credit analysis, and real estate investment principles.
  • Proficiency with PC applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word with strong financial modeling skills.
  • Strong consulting, oral, written, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Dedication to building a career in the real estate industry with a focus on the multifamily sector.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic self starter who is flexible, organized and conscientious.
  • Knowledge of the Bay Area multifamily market is a plus.
