Who are we looking for?
GHD is seeking a Coastal Engineer to join our growing practice in our Maritime & Coastal (M&C) group on the West Coast. As a Coastal Engineer, you will be a technical team member on the engineering design, analyses for preparation of reports, plans and technical specifications and post-construction monitoring for a diverse portfolio of projects. You will have the opportunity to work on projects such as coastal, waterfront, and municipal infrastructure improvements and restoration projects. The successful candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivated and active networker who values building credible relationships with clients and the community.

Salary Range: $86,000 - $129,000 based on experience.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Collaborate with fellow engineers and scientists on a wide range of coastal / civil engineering projects.
- Contribute to development of technical reports, analyses, plans and specifications.
- Maintain open communication with project teams and M&C group members.
- Coordinate and work with cross-discipline teams on other market sector projects.
- Support pursuit/proposal efforts, developing scope, schedule and budget.
- Provide mentorship and development advice to junior level staff.
- Interact with clients, suppliers, and regulators and manage tasks and projects to successful completion.
- Keep up to date with technical qualifications and licenses.
- Get involved! Involve yourself in local committees, action groups and special interest organizations, with a view towards furthering your own skills and brand recognition for GHD.
- Stay current and well advised on M&C market trends, client spending, assets, resiliency and logistics.

What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Coastal Engineering from an accredited university or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology / Oceanography with a Masters in Civil / Coastal Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of prior consulting experience
- Registered Professional Engineer in CA, preferred but not required
- Knowledge of coastal processes and use of numerical modeling methods and applicable software such as of matlab, python and other programming language
- Dedicated to managing time, handling priorities, and working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently
- Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
