- Engage in the teaching, consulting and advising of the care management and utilization review departments and hospital leadership.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement methods and develop care management protocols that optimize the use of hospital services for all patients while ensuring quality care is provided.
- Develop expertise on physician practice patterns, over and under-utilization of resources, medical necessity, levels of care, care progression, denial management, compliance with governmental and private payer regulations, appropriate physician coding and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- MD/DO degree from a recognized Medical or Osteopathic School
- Obtain or have the ability to obtain a New Jersey Medical License
- 1-2+ years of experience as a Physician Advisor or similar role
- Ability to build rapport with medical staff and hospital leadership to obtain buy-in and
collaboration necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates ability to drive results and produce outcomes.
- Member of the American College of Physician Advisors (ACPA) is preferred.
- Board Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) is preferred.
- Physician Advisor Sub-specialty Certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance
- and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP) is preferred.
