Job Summary
The Director of Product Enablement and State Filings Manager will lead the strategic enablement of property and casualty (P&C) insurance products while ensuring compliance with state-specific regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of product filings, managing relationships with state insurance departments, and driving operational excellence to bring innovative P&C products to market efficiently. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in P&C insurance, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in regulatory filings and cross-functional collaboration

Compensation
Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.

Job Responsibilities:
Product Enablement Leadership:
- Collaborate with product development, underwriting, actuarial, operations, IT and marketing teams to design, launch, and support new and existing P&C insurance products.
- Develop and implement processes to streamline product enablement, ensuring alignment with business goals and market demands.
- Identify and implement tools, technologies, and workflows to enhance product delivery and operational efficiency.
State Filings Management:
- Oversee the preparation, submission, and approval of P&C insurance product filings across multiple states, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state-specific insurance regulations, rate rules, and filing procedures.
- Act as the primary liaison with state insurance departments, responding to inquiries, objections, and requests for additional information in a timely manner.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor changes in state and federal insurance regulations and advise internal stakeholders on their impact on product offerings and filing strategies.
- Ensure all product documentation, forms, rates, and rules comply with applicable laws and standards.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of product enablement and state filings professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support career development for team members
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with product development, underwriting, actuarial, operations, IT and marketing teams to integrate product enhancements and ensure seamless execution of product launches.
- Work with actuarial teams to validate pricing models and ensure filings reflect accurate risk assessments.
Process Optimization:
- Analyze current filing and enablement workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Leverage data and analytics to track filing timelines, approval rates, and product performance post-launch.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the overall P&C product strategy by providing insights on regulatory trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs.
- Support the development of long-term roadmaps for product innovation and market expansion
Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., JD) or industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, with at least 5 years in product management, state filings, or regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of P&C specialty commercial lines insurance.
- Expertise in state insurance regulations and the filings process (e.g., SERFF experience strongly preferred).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience interacting with regulators and senior leadership.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and process improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with insurance software platforms is a plus.
