Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the IT Security Specialist would serve as a subject matter expert and a manager of the agency's overall information security program. This position would be responsible for security monitoring of agency systems and will assess security solutions and processes, as well as provide technical advice to influence the design and implementation of the security of agency information technology systems and networks. Assist with incident response and investigations including preparation, documentation, and coordination with other areas and teams, assisting with eradication and recovery, and any necessary post-incident activities. Assist with the management of the agency's security awareness campaigns, including but not limited to phishing testing. Provide guidance to IT and other agency staff and leadership on best practices towards managing the agency's risks and cybersecurity related issues. Works with staff on the installation, configuration and maintenance of related security technologies, including endpoint defense, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the agency's data and systems. Represents the agency for security related matters on agency and external teams, as needed and as assigned. Consult with system office and 16 colleges management, staff on security strategies, disaster recovery solutions and standards.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in the information technology field to include experience in a security-focused role. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge of advanced network and server design; Network administration practices and procedures; microcomputer and network hardware and software. Experience managing projects. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Extensive knowledge of or Certification(s) in networking and information security. Extensive knowledge of or Certification(s) in firewalls, routers, switches. Extensive knowledge of or Certification(s) in Microsoft Domain administration, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 0365 environments. Knowledge of or Certification(s) in AWS and other cloud providers. A valid driver's license is required. Must have the ability to lift and carry equipment weighing at most 50 pounds.
