Job Description:
- Perform radiographic procedures to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications.
- Transfer patients for examinations and assist with the X-ray examination process.
- Operate all X-ray imaging and related equipment appropriately.
- Educate, position, immobilize, and perform X-ray procedures on patients.
- Coordinate X-ray examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care.
- Follow imaging orders correctly as per the provider's instructions.
- Submit required images and related clinical information to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Evaluate image quality accurately.
- Maintain open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership.
- Utilize, charge, and maintain department supplies appropriately.
- Practice sterile technique and follow infection prevention policies.
- Handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines effectively.
- Perform X-ray procedures safely, including patient transfer.
- Prepare and administer contrast according to the radiologist's protocol.
- Follow radiation safety measures to ensure patient and staff safety (ALARA).
- Supervise and evaluate student radiographers in the clinical setting.
