The Stroke Program Manager plays a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Stroke Program, ensuring the provision of high-quality services for patients experiencing stroke across the continuum of care. This position requires an expert nurse who provides leadership within the organization and collaboration with the Stroke Program Medical Director to ensure program success across Cayuga Health System.
The Stroke Program Manager plans, implements, and evaluates clinical programs to achieve high quality, patient-focused outcomes that advance patient and family care and nursing practice in stroke. Is responsible for the development, quality assessment, performance improvement, and inter/intra disciplinary communications within the program.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs within the Stroke Program to achieve high-quality, patient-centered outcomes across Cayuga Health System.
- Establish operational and strategic goals aligned with standards set forth by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Stroke Association, Joint Commission, and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to maintain Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification.
- Responsible for coordinating and executing Stroke Awareness including but not limited to; Provide stroke-related education to internal and external stakeholders, including hospital personnel, EMS providers, local and regional communities, and patients.
- Proactively involved in the development of clinical workflows, adoption of new clinical practice guidelines by staying informed of current stroke research and evidence based practice.
- Serve as a liaison with Emergency Medical Services (EMS), providing feedback and guidance on pre-hospital stroke processes.
- Chair relevant Stroke Program committees related to Quality Improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure accurate data registry abstraction and entry, including Get with the Guidelines through AHA.
Required Skills and Experience:
- NYS RN license, BSN
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience, inpatient and outpatient necessary
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree preferred
- 3 years in Program Leadership desired
- Experience in program management leading and managing healthcare programs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit or ambulate for long periods. Ability to mobilize freely around units, transport self to site locations, and perform required data entry into EMR and alternate data management systems. Ability to transport self to customer base.
Location and Travel Requirements:
- Onsite with hybrid availability
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $80,000 to $100,000 per year
