Position Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager with an FPGA/Digital Design background to lead the development of secure communication products. The candidate will manage and lead a team of embedded FPGA engineers, developing FPGA firmware for wireless communication systems and products. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in FPGA/Firmware development and demonstrated leadership in technical teams and projects. Responsibilities include managing resources, schedules, and budgets for FPGA development projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and verify FPGA solutions for product development. The candidate will also oversee the career development of direct reports.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead a team of FPGA engineers, including setting goals, managing timecards, and overseeing development plans and training.
  • Drive the team's work to completion, ensuring delivery and performance metrics are met.
  • Maintain and improve FPGA development processes.
  • Create cost estimates and schedules for FPGA development projects.
  • Manage the budget and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Supervise team members and support their career development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience in developing and verifying FPGA/ASIC-based embedded system solutions. Alternatively, a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience or 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience with VHDL/Verilog coding for synthesis.
  • Experience in FPGA/ASIC verification using SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with UVM/OVM FPGA/ASIC verification methodology.
  • Experience in developing cryptographic security solutions for communication products.
  • Knowledge of development and certification of secure products.
  • Proven leadership and management skills in embedded system and FPGA/ASIC design projects.
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently with remote teams and collaborators.

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work well in team environments and mentor others.
