Business Intelligence Engineer II
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to support an Internal Audit Data Analytics team, providing data-driven solutions to enhance audit effectiveness. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple business units to assess risks, improve operational efficiency, and optimize controllership using data analytics. The BIE will consult on audit engagements, develop analytical solutions, and support full-scale data-driven testing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with auditors and business teams to understand audit requirements and translate them into technical data solutions.
  • Identify, analyze, and substantiate risks associated with business processes, policies, and systems.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to create consumable datasets for audit testing and analysis.
  • Build and maintain SQL queries, Python scripts, and Jupyter notebooks for data analysis.
  • Develop automated tools and dashboards to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention in audits.
  • Support end-to-end audit phases, from data gathering to risk identification, testing, and reporting.
  • Present key insights to stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

  • SQL Expertise - Strong experience in writing and optimizing queries for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Python Proficiency - Ability to analyze large datasets, automate processes, and conduct statistical analysis.
  • Experience Leading Data-Driven Projects - Proven ability to own and drive large-scale impact projects, analysis, or research initiatives.
  • Skills & Experience Required:
    • 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields.
    • Proficiency in SQL and Python to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets.
    • Ability to work with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide data-driven insights.
    • Experience applying statistical methods (e.g., regression, correlation analysis) to solve business problems.
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI, or similar.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new business domains quickly.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in consulting, advisory, or client-facing roles.
    • Understanding of data modeling and pipeline design.
    • Knowledge of cloud services (not required, but a plus).
    • Experience supporting audit, risk, or compliance functions.
    Typical Day in the Role:
    • Attend business and audit team calls to discuss audit objectives and data requirements.
    • Conduct independent data analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
    • Develop and refine SQL queries and Python scripts for full-population testing.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate findings and recommend improvements.
    • Document and present insights to audit leadership.
