Position Summary

The Senior Director of Finance and Operational Analytics is a critical leader within George Washington Medical Faculty Associates, tasked with driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role plays a pivotal part in bridging financial outcomes with key operational metrics, including access, throughput, and work Relative Value Units (wRVUs). The Senior Director will lead (directly and indirectly) a team of finance and analytics professionals and collaborate closely with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure alignment between financial objectives and operational performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial and Operational Alignment:

  • Develop and implement strategies to connect financial results with operational metrics, including access, throughput, and wRVUs.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize resource utilization.


Data Analytics and Insights:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics to support organizational decision-making.
  • Oversee the creation of dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable insights into financial and operational performance.
  • Utilize predictive and prescriptive analytics to forecast trends and guide strategic planning.


Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Build and lead a high-performing work teams that cross multi-functional areas to bridge financial results with operational metrics.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation across clinical and administrative teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by presenting complex data in a clear and actionable format.


Financial Planning and Performance Management:

  • Monitor financial performance against key operational indicators, providing insights and recommendations to achieve organizational goals.
  • Support initiatives to enhance revenue and expense enhancements across the practice.


Compliance and Best Practices:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, academic, and healthcare-specific guidelines.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in financial analytics and healthcare operations.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline


Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience and leadership in operational finance, financial planning and analysis


Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach above the shoulder frequently in an office setting.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or carry and frequently push or pull up to 100 pounds as part of the role.
  • Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
