We're looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer with strong design and analysis skills to take on independent work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires expertise in civil and structural engineering techniques, along with the ability to evaluate and apply industry standards while developing creative solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Perform structural design and analysis calculations using industry codes, standards, and engineering formulas
- Prepare and/or modify engineering calculations, plans, layouts, specifications, and cost estimates
- Develop conceptual and schematic layouts, provide sketches, and collaborate with Designers/Drafters
- Review shop drawings and coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
- Serve as a Project Engineer or Client contact for smaller, less complex projects
- Conduct field activities, observe and record existing conditions, and verify measurements
- Attend client meetings and assist in contract administration
- Utilize software tools such as StaadPro (or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite for design and documentation
Education & Experience:
- BS in Civil Engineering with 7+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering or an MS in Civil Engineering with 6+ years of experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Skills & Certifications:
- Proficiency in StaadPro or equivalent finite element analysis software.
- Experience working on multi-discipline projects in Steel Making, BioProcess, or Petrochemical industries.
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Suite.
- PE, SE, or EIT license preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screenings.
