Role Overview:
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for assessing supplier quality and driving process improvements to reduce product defects and ensure products comply with manufacturing specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review supplier-provided data against drawing requirements to ensure the quality of received components.
  • Generate reports on supplier quality, monitor defect rates, and guide suppliers to reduce these rates.
  • Research potential vendors, assess their manufacturing environment, and conduct quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies and quality certifications.
  • Support suppliers in improving performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans.

Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • Document learnings for quality improvements and address issues beyond team responsibilities.

Product Quality Assurance:
  • Advise on optimal quality assurance methodologies and tools for products.
  • Analyze and interpret quality failures, identifying underlying causes and associated costs.
  • Implement quality assurance processes for hardware products and oversee audits.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures, and Policies:
  • Consult on developing and implementing organizational standards.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with cross-functional standards.
  • Participate in defining and documenting organizational principles.

Supplier Management:
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring quality standards and controls are developed and maintained.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve discrepancies, and manage risk-sharing partnerships.
  • Ensure fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements with suppliers.

Supplier Evaluations and Certification:
  • Assist in evaluating and certifying suppliers using predefined criteria.
  • Research and assess suppliers' reputation using reference calls and other information sources.
  • Participate in selecting suppliers and products based on quality evaluations.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • Primarily office-based with potential site visits for supplier evaluations and audits.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams effectively.
